What FavMint does on your device
FavMint (favmint.com) is a static website. The favicon studio and logo maker run entirely in your browser: rendering, font outlining, and file exports (SVG, PNG, ICO, ZIP) all happen locally. Nothing you design is uploaded to us or to anyone else.
Information we don't collect
- No account, name, email, or password is ever required.
- We don't receive your text, icons, colors, or exported files.
- We don't use advertising or ad-tracking scripts.
- We don't sell or share personal information.
Local storage
To save your work between visits, FavMint uses your browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us:
favmint:favicon:v1: your current favicon design.favmint:logo:v1: your current logo design.favmint-theme: whether you chose light or dark mode.
You can remove this data at any time by clearing site data for favmint.com in your browser settings.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit FavMint and which pages they use. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and collects standard usage data like pages viewed, approximate location, device, and browser. It never sees your designs, text, or exported files. This data is processed by Google under its privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-onor by blocking cookies for favmint.com.
Shareable links
When you copy a shareable link, your design is encoded in the part of the URL after the #. Browsers don't send that part to the server, so we can't see it. Anyone you give the link to can see the design, so share it only with people you trust.
Hosting and server logs
Like any website, the servers and content delivery network that host FavMint may automatically record standard technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of the request. This is used only to deliver the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems, and is kept for a limited time.
Emailing us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply, and you can ask us to delete the conversation at any time.
Children
FavMint is a general design tool and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information about you. Because we hold almost none, the simplest step is clearing your browser's site data. For anything else, contact us and we'll help.
Changes to this policy
If we add features that change how data is handled, we'll update this page and the date above before they go live.
